Self-operating gas fire prevention safety valve with curved interface

The self-activating fire-protection valve shuts off a supply of inflammable gas in the presence of enhanced temperatures. The valve has a spring (5) -loaded ball-shaped stopper (3) which closes against a valve seat (6) within a housing (1). The ball and seat are made of material of the same hardness. The valve has a temperature-sensitive component which releases the ball stopper which is then moved by the spring. The valve seat has a sharp, curved, conical cross-section, against which the ball surface effects a seal which extends over an area on both sides of the mid point of contact.
