The invention relates to a pilot-operated pressure control valve having a damper (40) which is assigned to a main valve (24, 78) and which can be displaced by the pressure in the spring chamber (36). The damper is fitted between two chokes (44, 52), which are connected in series, in such a way that movement of the damper can cause the pressure to be reduced in the spring chamber, and a main valve element can be controlled so as to attenuate pressure build-up in the intake connection of the pressure control valve.
