Incident light beam splitting device e.g. for image projection

The device has a highly reflective wide-band mirror (13), this reflects the light beam reflected from a second dichroic mirror (15), into the air gap (12) between the plates and back to the second mirror. The light beams reflected in a direction parallel to a beam of a second wavelength which passes through the second mirror. The highly reflective mirror is arranged parallel to and a given distance from both dichroic mirrors. The device splits an incident light beam into three beams of three different wavelengths.
