The apparatus is intended for moving horizontally divided core boxes on mould making machines, particularly core and mask shooting machines. At least one core box part (1) is moved from the work space (2) of the machine into an ergonomically advantageous position for carrying out inspection and/or cleaning and/or maintenance and/or assembly and/or insertion tasks. The core box part (1) is movable about a pivot axis (3) from the work space (2) into an inspection position (4) located in the direct vicinity of the work space.
