<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure tension accurately by holding a guide case provided with guide rollers in parallel by a specified number of load cells and disposing the guide case at the upper half part of a cable guide path at the stern. SOLUTION: The guide case 15 has a frame 19 for rotatably holding guide rollers 17 arranged in parallel. The guide rollers 17 is pivoted, at a specified pitch, along the upper edge of the frame 19. Four load cells 18 are fixed to the supporting frame 23 of the frame 19 and supports the guide case 15 through an abutting member 24. At the time of cable laying work, a specified length of a cable is hung down from a work boat and the load cell 18 is reset before the cable is fed out. A cable brake is controlled such that the tension of the cable operated from the total load of the load cells 18 falls within a specified range. According to the arrangement, the tension of the cable can be measured accurately regardless of the angle of the cable entering into the water or the track of the cable.</p> |
