A system designing support apparatus is adapted to produce an upper composite function block by combining a plurality of function blocks as lower constituent elements which have the functions necessary for system designing. This apparatus is provided with an information presenting section (12) adapted to take out the attributes of the lower function blocks, and present information used by the operator to designate the attributes as upper block inherent attributes or the information shared by both upper and lower blocks, a designation input section (11) used by the operator to designate the attributes of the lower function blocks as inherent attributes or common information on the basis of the presented information, an inherent information registration section (13) for registering, when the operator designates the inherent attributes, the attributes as inherent attributes, an inherent information storage section (14) for storing the inherent attributes, and a common information storage section (15) for storing the information other than the inherent attributes as common information. Thereby the inherent attributes and common information in the upper composite blocks can be discriminated from each other, and used.
