The jacket part (20) of a protective NBC suit has an inner, permeable adsorption layer and an impermeable outer layer. The outer layer features several scale strips (22), which overlap in the manner of roof tiles in the direction of the wearer's feet, consist of an impermeable material and are located across the jacket body. A ventilation slit (28) is formed between each successive pair of scale strips (22).
