The medium, particularly gas, is delivered by hoses through the mouth and into the body of an unconscious, injured or anaesthetised person. One hose (15) at least is adjustably preloaded after its intubation, and together with the other inserted one (10) is locked in place by clamping both to a predetermined point (19) within the oropharynx. Where endotracheal and orophangeal tubes (15, 10) are used, the former can be held by two guides (2, 7) spaced apart on a connecting component, both of them inclined to the tube in the extended position. A mounting (9) on the component and at right angles to it accommodates the latter tube.
