The invention relates to a windscreen wiper device for a vehicle windscreen (6), with a reversing wiper motor (2). Said wiper motor (2) is controlled by an electronics unit (9) using control signals (10). The electronics unit (9) has an operating mode and a learning mode by which means a reversing position of a wiper arm (4) and/or a drive shaft (3) can be memorised in the learning mode and called up in the operating mode as often as required. The invention provides a means of adapting a wiper motor to different operating situations simply and economically, without mechanical adjustments.
