The invention concerns a method wherein, when setting up a connection (SETUP) launched by a component (KE, KS) with time division multiplexing, an information of specific destination of an ATM communication network (vpi, vci) is derived from a given signalling information (rnr, znr) and an ATM switching connection(SVC) is automatically set up in the ATM communication network (ATMKN). After transparent signalling and useful data (si, ni) transmission by means of the switching (WV) connection set up, said ATM switching connection (SVC) is switched out again. Said method enables a more efficient exploitation of the ATM network (ATM-KN).
