Spergualin-related compounds such as 15-deoxyspergualin and pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof possess an activity of suppressing the function of monocyte or macrophage are useful as drugs for the treatment of immunodeficiency accompanied by a reduced CD4<+> T cell level as observed in HIV infection.
