FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves covering surface of young crops with suspension of whitening substance to change albedo of plants, i.e. changing value of solar radiation acting upon plants. Norm of whitening substance applied is determined by formula: q = <EMI ID=0.244 HE=9 WI=21 TI=CHI>, where q is norm of applied whitening substance, kg/sq m; m is concentration of whitening substance, kg/cu m; d(s) drop size, mm(m); p is covering extent; k is drop spreading coefficient.
