The flue-tile (2), especially for locating at the point where the chimney passes through the roof of a building, has a round-section flue aperture and a rectangular surround to support the brickwork for the outer surface of the chimney. The surround can be made in one piece with the flue tile, e.g. of terra cotta or concrete, moulded onto it or made in two sections (4a,4b) which are fitted into recesses (10) in the flue tile's outer surface.
