An ear type thermometer for metering a body temperature includes a thermometer body (2), and a probe (6) mounted in the thermometer body (2) and adapted to be inserted into an ear. The probe (6) is provided with a probe cover (11). A screwing member (9) is provide for fixing the probe cover (11) on the probe (6).
