<p>This new method completes a sealed joint between two sections (2,5). It is particularly suitable for jointing pipes. They are assembled by pushing together, with longitudinal relative motion between their facing and approximately parallel surfaces (11,19). Their shapes define an end position. Their surfaces are rough, especially comprising concrete, which is initially porous. A pliant, natural or synthetic, resilient sealing gasket (3) is held on one surface. Its leading face (32) contacts the surface opposite, during assembly. It becomes deformed in compression or flexion. Prior to assembly, solid lubricant is coated onto the seal surface. A glazing fluid (37) is impregnated into the opposite surface, forming a smooth film. This contacts the seal during assembly. The coating is hardened. Also claimed are the assembled joint formed as described and the sections forming the joint.</p> |
