PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for promoting health by far infrared rays by promoting perspiration and metabolism without applying physical burden even to the aged, infants, or the sick. SOLUTION: This health promoting method using far infrared rays is achieved when either zeolite particles obtained when a zeolite with a base substitution capacity (meq/100 g) of 100 meq or more and a pore surface area of 6.0 m<2> /g or more is crushed into particle diameters of 1 to 10 mm, or ceramic particles obtained when electromagnetic-wave-radiating ceramic powders, such that near infrared rays with radiation wavelengths of 2.5 to 3.2μm and far infrared electromagnetic waves with radiation wavelengths of 5.0 to 7.4μm have emissivities of at least 0.8 or more with respect to black body emissivity, are supported on the zeolite particles by 0.3 to 3.0 wt.%, are stored by the required capacity in an enclosure 2 whose interior wall surface 3A and bottom surface 3B are made from a heat insulating material 3 and on the bottom face of which a heating element 4 capable of heating the ceramic particles to the required temperature is placed; then the particles are heated to appropriate temperatures of 35 to 50 deg.C, and the body is buried in the heated ceramic particles.
