PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oligosaccharide derivative useful as a synthetic intermediate capable of simply synthesizing a mucin type saccharide by protecting OH at the 6-position of a galactose residue of a specific disaccharide-serine bound substance. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by the formula (R<1> is tert- butyldimethylsilyl, etc.; R<2> is benzyloxycarbonyl, etc.; R<3> is benzyl, etc.). The compound is obtained by condensing (A) N -acetylgalactosamine with serine (ester) using, e.g. anα-N -acetylgalactosaminidase derived from the genus Aspergillus, protecting amino of the resultant condensate, then carrying out the transfer reaction of the protected compound and aβ-glucoside compound of galactose with aβ-galactosidase, conducting the diisopropylidenation between OH groups at the 3- and the 4-positions of the galactose residue in the resultant product and between OH groups at the 4- and the 6-positions of the A residue, subsequently reacting a sterically bulky protecting group, selectively protecting only the 6-position of the galactose residue and then eliminating the isopropylidene.
|
