PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound having an asymmetry recognizing part for optical resolution. SOLUTION: This polysaccharide derivative has an asymmetry recognizing part of formula I [R is a group of formula II or a group of formula III (R1 is or methyl; R2 is H, Cl or methyl); (n) is 5-10,000]. An O-allyl-1,2:5,6- dianhydrohexitol derivative of formula IV is obtained from a hexose (preferably mannose) as a starting raw material. The derivative of formula IV is subjected to anionic polymerization by using, for example, a potassium-t-butyl alkoxide as a catalyst, deallylated in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid by palladium carbon and subjected to substitution reaction with an isocyanato, an acid chloride, an acid anhydride, an ester, etc., to give the derivative of formula I. The derivative of formula I is used as an asymmetry recognizing part of a reagent for optical resolution. Preferably the derivative of formula I is supported on a silica gel subjected to surface treatment and made into a chiral stationary phase to give a new reagent for optical resolution in a wide application range, capable of resolving the racemic modification of a hetero ring-containing compound which has heretofore been difficult to resolve. |
