PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material to be recorded for ink jet having high transparency without change of color expression and without discoloring even in the case of storing for a long period by exhibiting high image density, resolution and clear color tone and satisfactory ink absorbency. SOLUTION: In the material to be recorded for ink jet containing alumina hydrate and binder, pH of a surface of an ink absorbing layer is set to a range of 4.0 to 5.4. Thus, it exhibits high image density, resolution, clear color tone and satisfactory ink absorbency without change of color expression and without discoloring even in the case of storing for a long period. As the alumina, alumina hydrate having a flat plate-like pseudo-Boehmite structure having mean aspect ratio of 3 to 7, a pore size of a range of 2 to 10 nm and a pore volume of 0.1 ml/g or more is preferable. And, as the binder, polyvinylalcohol having polymerization degree of 2000 or more and saponification degree of 88% to less than 100% is preferable. |
