PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for realizing an image having excellent scuff resistance and water resistance at high quality level without printing unevenness in a method for ink jet recording to print with two liquids of reaction liquid and ink composition. SOLUTION: Reaction liquid containing polyvalent metal salt, or polyallylamine or its derivative, and ink composition containing self-crosslinking polymer fine particles having core shell type film formability made of a core layer having an epoxy group and shell layer having carboxyl group and inorganic oxide colloid are combined for use. That is, the method for ink jet recording prints the liquid and the composition adhered to a recording medium by the method.
