A method for processing a silver halide photographic light sensitive material, using an automatic processor, the method comprising the steps of developing an exposed silver halide photographic light sensitive material with developer containing a compound represented by the following formula (1); and then fixing the developed material with fixer, formula (1) <IMAGE> wherein the average flow velocity of the developer is 20 cm/second or more.
