PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyamide monofilament of core-sheath structure, excellent in transparency and softness, and undergoing little property deterioration under humid conditions by using a specific copolymerized polyamide resin as the sheath and another type of polyamide as the core. SOLUTION: This monofilament is obtained by melt spinning of a core-sheath structure with a copolymerized polyamide resin melting at 180 to 220 deg.C as the sheath and another type of polyamide as the core, wherein the former containing 7 to 53 wt.% of a polyamide obtained by copolymerization of a dimerized fatty acid (e.g. dimer of linolic or linolenic acid) and hexamethylene diamine, and a lactam having at least 3-membered ring (e.g.,ε-caprolactam), while the latter including, e.g. 6/66 polyamide. The core-sheath monofilament has a diameter of 0.35 to 4.5 mm and stress retention [(wet breaking stress/dry breaking stress)×100] of at least 80%, with the sheath having a thickness of at least 0.5% of the filament diameter.
