PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition which decomposes plaque efficiently and gives excellent dental caries preventive effect on malocclusion having a high dental caries risk and on children by formulating fine particles of calcium carbonate with dextranase. SOLUTION: The composition for oral cavity is obtained by mixing (A) preferably 0.1-7 wt.% of fine particles of calcium carbonate, which possesses BET specific surface area of 10-50 cm<2> /g and average grain size of 1μm or less in the primary grain, based on the whole weight of the composition, (B) 1.5-200 units of dextranase and preferably (C) 0.01-0.5 wt.% of an alkyloyl sarcosinate (e.g. lauroyl sarcosinate and the like). This composition can be prepared as toothpastes, liquid dentifrices, mouth washes and troches. It the case of, for example, dentifrices, the composition can be formulated with abrasives (e.g. silica gel, precipitated silica, etc.), viscosity-increasing agents (e.g. glycerol, sorbitol, etc.), surfactants, sweetening agents, antiseptics, pigments and perfumes.
