<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the absorption of more than a specific amount of evaporated fuel to a canister, by momently detecting various parameters indicating that an internal combustion engine is in a condition having the possibility of the generation of the evaporated fuel, and predicting the trend of the increase of the purge amount in advance. SOLUTION: An operation value of a valve overlap amount is corrected by an ECU 41 for a variable valve timing mechanism, corresponding to a fuel tank internal temperature detected by a parameter indicating that a generation amount of the evaporated fuel discharged from a fuel tank 80 has the trend of increase, that is, a fuel tank temperature sensor 36, among the parameters indicating the operating conditions detected by various sensors. That is, when it is judged that the evaporated fuel discharged from the fuel tank 80 has the trend of increase, the valve overlap amount is corrected so that at least the opening timing of an intake valve 9 is lagged. Whereby the generated negative pressure of the intake passage 7 is increased, and the purge is accelerated.</p> |
