PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sutainedly carry out the treatment for making a plant resistant to drought and prevent defective growth or death of the plant by applying a nonfluid organopolysiloxane to the surface of the plant. SOLUTION: A substantially nonfluid organopolysiloxane having >=10,000,000 P viscosity at 25 deg.C is applied to the surface of a plant to carry out the treatment for making the plant resistant to drought. The organopolysiloxane is preferably an aqueous dispersion and the concentration thereof is preferably within the range of 1-60%. The amount of the sprayed organopolysiloxane onto the plant body is preferably within the range of 1μg/cm<2> to 0.1 g/cm<2> .
