PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vegetation block having a simple structure and an inexpesivs constitution and capable of supplying water flooded in the lower portion of the block on rainfall to the upper vegetation base material and further supplying air necessary for the growth of plants. SOLUTION: This vegetation block 1 is obtained by disposing a portion for retaining water and air on the bottom side of a hollow portion of the box- like vegetation block, dividing the hollow portion of the vegetation block into the vegetation base material and the retention portion for water and air with a division plate 3 having water and air permeability, bringing the end of the division plate 3 into contact with the bottom surface of the hollow portion and raising the division plate at an angle of 5-50 degree based on the horizontal surface. An inexpensive cement excelsior plate excellent in durability, having a proper strength, rich in water permeability and air permeability and easy in molding is used as the division plate 3.
