PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy formed part made of Mg-Al alloy, used, e.g. for exterior cases for household electrical appliances, etc., and having sufficient corrosion resistance and adhesion of coating film by means of low-cost treatment free from harmful substances, and its production. SOLUTION: A formed body of magnesium-aluminum alloy, which contains, as average composition, 4 to 12% Al and has a low-Al region having <=200μm grain size and also having Mg content higher than that in the average composition and also has an Al-enriched region surrounding the above region and having Al content higher than that in the average composition, is prepared. A coating film, in one or more layers, is formed by coating on the above formed body, by which the magnesium alloy formed part can be obtained.
