PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eject a small drop without using a nozzle and to record a high resolution image in a recording head for printing by landing of an flying ink drop at a predetermined position on a recording medium. SOLUTION: This recording head comprises an ink-attractancy region 7 and an ink-repelency region 8 which are disposed in the vicinity of a tip section 4 of a free end of a cantilever structure that is subjected to bending vibration in response to excitation of a vibration generating means 2 vibrating in accordance with a image signal. It further comprises an elastic member 1 of which width of a part of the ink-attractancy region 7 at a face perpendicular to a direction of the bending vibration is roughly a length of 2λ. A capillary wave is generated on a surface of ink 3 by virtue of the vibration of the elastic member 1, then the ink 3 is ejected to be stuck on a recording medium. At the time,λis satisfied with a formula ofλ= 8πσ/(ρ-fe<2> )}<1/3>×10<4> (μm) with the proviso thatσdesignates a surface tension (mN/m) of ink,ρdesignates a concentration (g/cm<3> ) of ink and fe designates an excitation frequency (Hz).
