PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compatibility of the decrease in the capacity of a low- pressure pump and the improvement of the volumetric efficiency of a high- pressure pump. SOLUTION: A filter 31, a feed pump (a low-pressure pump) 32, a high- pressure pump 33, a common rail 34 communicating with and connected to injectors 14 of respective cylinders, and a highpressure regulator 35 are interposed in order from the upstream in a fuel passage 29 for supplying fuel from a fuel tank 30 to the injectors 14 of respective cylinders. A fuel bypass passage 29d for bypassing the upstream and the downstream of the feed pump (the low-pressure pump) 32 for feeding fuel from the fuel tank 30 to the high-pressure pump 33 is provided, and a check valve 37 for stopping the back flow of fuel to the upstream of the feed pump 32 and for allowing only the fuel flow to the high-pressure pump 33 side is arranged on this fuel bypass passage 29d. |
