PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medicinal composition having an excellent low density lipoprotein receptor gene expression-reinforcing action and useful for preventing and treating hyperlipemia, atherosclerosis, etc., by including a specific compound having a urethane skeleton. SOLUTION: This medicinal composition contains a compound, such as a urethane derivative of formula II [R<1> is a (substituted) heterocyclic group, etc.; R<2> is H, etc.; R<3> is a (substituted) alkyl, etc.], containing a urethane skeleton of formula I, having a low density lipoprotein receptor expression-reinforcing action, or its pharmacologically acceptable salt as an active ingredient. The compound of formula II includes (quinolin-3-yl) carbamic acid cyclopentyl ester obtained by reacting cyclopentanol with the reaction product of 3-aminoquinoline with N,N' -carbonyldiimidazole in the presence of an acid-removing agent in a solvent at -10 to 30 deg.C. The compound of formula II is preferably administered at a daily dose of about 5-20 mg/kg as an injection or at a daily dose of about 10-100 mg/kg as an oral agent. |
