PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy anti-skid performance on a wet road, traction performance, and cut appearance when a tire wears to the end. SOLUTION: This tire has peripheral deep grooves 16 in the range of 0.15TW-0.40TW (TW: tread width) from the center line of the equatorial plane of the tire to both sides in the direction of width of the tire and shoulder side lug grooves 22 outside the grooves 16. When the tire wears to the end, the depth of the peripheral deep grooves 16 and the shoulder side lug grooves 22 remains deep but the depth of the other peripheral grooves and lug grooves become null. Although a cut is apt to be produced in the range of 0.15TW from the center line of the equatorial plane of the tire to both the sides thereof, when the tire wears to the end, the grooves does not exist and hence a problem of cut appearance at the bottom of the grooves is solved. Since the peripheral deep grooves 16 remain in the range from the center line of the equatorial plane of the tire CL to 0.4TW, even when the tire wears to the end, the tire has sufficient anti-skid performance on a wet road. Since the shoulder lug grooves 22 remain until the tire wears to the end, the tire has sufficient traction performance until the tire wears to the end. |
