PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a high quality image by stably ejecting ink drops. SOLUTION: This ink jet recorder comprises waveform forming circuits 103A, 103C that form and output a driving waveform SAi for applying driving energy for ejecting ink drops from a nozzle to a piezoelectric element PZT and a driving waveform SCi for applying driving energy to the piezoelectric element PZT to an extent that allows the ink drops not to be ejected from the nozzle, respectively. The recorder further comprises low impedance output circuits 104A, 104C each outputs the respective driving waveforms SAi, SCi outputted from the waveform forming circuits 103A, 103C and a driving waveform selecting circuit 105 that outputs one of the driving waveforms SAi, SCi to each of selection electrodes Do1-Do32 of an ink jet head H in accordance with a driving control signal from a main control section 101. |
