Retention system for paper, used for packaging and writing

Making paper by formation and drying of aqueous paper paste containing cellulose paste and mineral fillers comprises incorporating into mother-paste, before sheet formation, retention system comprising (i) cationic starch and/or cationic galactomannane; and (ii) suspension of precipitated silica comprising filtered precipitate. Also claimed is paper made by said method.
