Movement vectors coding method for film recordings

The method involves searching a movement vector prediction for a first block among four 8 times 8 blocks in a macro block when a 8 times 8 mode is chosen as searching mode for the macro block. A first, a second and a third movement vector predictions are searched one after the other for each of the second, third and fourth block after the search for a first, a second, and a third movement prediction for the first block. A mean prediction vector of a movement vector for the first block is compared with a movement vector limit. The mean prediction value is determined as predicted value for the coding of the first block, when the mean prediction value of the movement vector lies within the limit. A vector value of the movement vector prediction is determined within the limit when the mean prediction value of the movement vector does not lie within the limit. The comparison is repeated and a predicted value for all 8 times 8 blocks in the macro block is determined.
