To monitor the yarn at the workstation of a spinner, a communication module (4) takes in all the signals relating to the quality and presence of the yarn (15) at the workstation. They are passed to a control (5) for the section of workstations, to be transferred to the central computer (6) relating to that section. Also claimed is an assembly with a measurement head (2) at the workstation, to register the quality and presence of a yarn (15), connected to the communication module (4). The signals are collected at the control (5) for the section of workstations, to be passed to the central computer (6).
