A structure for jointing reinforcing bars, which helps increase the mechanical strength of joints, significantly facilitates jointing work, and reduces both the period and cost of construction projects, comprising, in joining two reinforcing bars in the lengthwise direction, an intermediate member having a flange in the middle, on both sides of which the outer diameter portion is threaded and the inner diameter portion is tapered in a shape expanding in both directions from the middle; first and second jacks, each consisting of a pair of parts made by splitting a cylindrical member in the axial direction and pressure-fixed by annular elastic members to the tips of reinforcing bars to be mutually jointed, with their own tips being pressed by the tapered faces on both sides of the intermediate member; and first and second couplers each pressing one side each of the external circumferences of the first and second jacks, with their foreends being screwed onto the male threaded parts on both sides of the intermediate member. |
