摘要 In a process to determine the maximum dialysance of a dialysis process the novelty is that: (a) the dialysis liquid concentration of a particular incoming substance is determined both upstream (cdi) and downstream (cdo) of the dialysis assembly (1) chamber (4); (b) the concentration (cbi) of the substance in the incoming blood, is determined upstream of the dialysis machine (1) blood chamber (3); (c) the maximum dialysance D is calculated from: (i) the dialysis liquid concentration (cdi); (ii) the outgoing dialysis liquid concentration (cdo); (iii) the incoming blood concentration (cdi); (iv) the outgoing dialysis liquid concentration (cdo); (v) the incoming blood concentration (cbi); (vi) the blood flow (Qb); (vii) and the dialysis fluid flow Qd through the dialysis fluid chamber. The maximum dialysance D is calculated from the relationship: Dmax = where D is the maximum dialysance, Qd is the dialysis fluid, cb is the concentration of the substance in the blood, cd is the concentration of the substance in the incoming fluid, i is the dialysis assembly input, and o is the dialysis assembly output. (d) also claimed is an appropriate assembly.
