The electrical component includes a component body (1) defining the component function, with terminal metallisations (2) on opposite surface faces of the component body which allow free-edges on the metallisation-free surface faces carrying them. Contact wires (3) are present on the terminal metallisations (2) for an electrical external connection. At the free-edges (4-1), over which the contact wires extend to the outer most component, the wire spacing (a) from the component body is greater than the thickness of the terminal metallisations.
