Method for control of a vehicles air conditioning evaporator temperature as a function of the exterior dew point.

The temperature of the air (TA) and the dew point temperature (TP) of the exterior air drawn into the vehicle by the air conditioning unit are defined. A temperature (TVA), is prescribed for the evaporator in the absence of reheating, is determined from set values of interior space temperature. The temperature (TV) of the evaporator is adjusted to a chosen set value (TVS), inside temperature limits which can be pre-defined, as the smallest of the two following values: - the prescribed value (TVA) of the evaporator; - the difference between the air temperature (TA) and the dew point temperature (TP) of the intake air. The evaporator temperature (TVS) is limited by a maximum set temperature which can be pre-defined so as to avoid production of odours.
