The circuit provides a supply potential (V) for a load (RL) connected between an output terminal (AK) and a reference potential (M) in response to a control signal (AS), using a semiconductor switch (T1) connected between the supply potential and the output terminal. A voltage source (U) is coupled to the terminal (S) of the semiconductor switch coupled to the output terminal, with a second semiconductor switch (T2) e.g. a self- conducting FET or a self-blocking between the opposite terminal of the voltage source and the control electrode (G) of the first semiconductor switch. The control electrode of the second semiconductor switch receives a signal (S1) dependent on the control signal.
