Assays, devices and kits for specifically identifying infection of a sample by T. Cruzi are disclosed. Resolved antigens for T. Cruzi are placed on a support (34) and the sample is allowed to contact the support (34). Antigen-antibody complexes are then detected. The support (34) is part of a cassette in an apparatus for detecting T. Cruzi.
