The pigeon ring (12) has two axially parallel hollow forms of different diameters. The larger diameter part is an outer cylinder for mounting on the leg of a pigeon. The smaller hollow chamber (14) arranged eccentrically outside the leg receives an identification transponder (27) with a magnetic high frequency antenna and a non-contact readable memory chip. The ring is formed as one piece of moulded plastic weak rubber elastic material. The transition from the outer diameter of the larger diameter cylinder (13) to the outer diameter of the smaller cylinder forms a concave shape in cross section relative to the tangent.
