The invention relates to a tension-rod type hydraulic cylinder used especially for small presses, comprising a base (16), a head (20) and a tube (10) held together by a tension rod (46), in addition to a piston (40) and a piston rod (41) which emerges out of the cylinder head (20) and is guided into a bushing (11). The bushing (11) is directly centred in relation to the tube (10) of the cylinder in order to obtain low-friction movement of the piston (40) and the piston rod (41), thereby ensuring good adjustability and high operational frequency of said cylinder.
