The milling cutter has a holding shaft (1) and a working part (2) with at least three webs (4a-d) running along it, separated by swarf grooves (3) and with radial cutting edges (7) at the ends. At least one of the webs (4a) is edged lengthwise by a cutting lip (5),which completes the boring process begun by the radial cutting edges. At least two more webs (4b,d), which start and finish the thread cutting, have a cutting and positioning lip (10,16) on one side and cutting teeth (12,18) on the other.
