CONCENTRATOR FOR SPEECH TELEPHONES AND METHOD OF COMMUNICATION OVER LAN USING SAME

Telephone sets are incorporated in a LAN. When, for example, a telephone set (5) makes a call to a telephone section (8), the call is controlled by exchanging in formation between the personal computers(1 and 4) provided to the telephone sets (5 and 8) through a LAN hub (10), a LAN switch device (50), and a LAN hub (20). The voice data of the telephone sets (5 and 8) are respectively packeted in the data sections o f MAC frames by means of TLAs (30 and 40) and relayed to LAN-SW interfaces (30a and 40 a). To the data sections on the interfaces (30a and 40a), frames having fluctuation absorbing functions are applied. The packeted voice data are respectively sent to the tele phone sets (8 and 5) through the LAN switch device (50) and TLAs (40 and 30) based on the M AC addresses of the MAC frames.
