<p>An improved class D power amplifier (100) is disclosed. Instead of using prior art triangle waves, a ramp signal (104A) having a first state (104A-1) of about 90 % or greater is used and a second state (104A-2) for the remainder of the cycle. Further, the amplifier (100) includes flip-flops (160, 180) and amplifiers (15) with hysterisis to reduce switching noise. Also, level shifting circuitry (120) is provided for shifting the level of the input signal in response to both DC and AC variations in the power supply and to provide power supply rejection. Still further, multiple channels (110) may be used with all of the channels (110) synchronized to the same timing source.</p> |
