Filter circuit for letterbox format television images

The filter circuit for use with television images of a so called letter box format provides a correction of data words having rounding errors. The pixel data is processed by a filter circuit with a (0.5) coefficient. This results in a shift operation and the least significant bit is lost. The correction process involves an operand (OP51,OP52) shift operation and a summation.
