A fuel injection nozzle capable of adjusting the opening of a nozzle hole by causing an open/close member to displace, comprising a stepping motor (20) for rotating and displacing the open/close member (13), a coupling (22) connected to an output shaft (20a) of the stepping motor (20), a position limiting shaft (31) fitted to the coupling (22), a position limiting bolt (32) screwed to a casing (21) fixed to a nozzle body (2), the position limiting bolt (32) being disposed so that when the open/close member (13) rotates and displaces from the full open position toward the full close position and reaches a position somewhat short of the full close position, the position limiting shaft (31) strikes the position limiting bolt (32). Control means (40) recognizes the position of the output shaft (20a), when the position limiting shaft (31) strikes to the position limiting bolt (32), to be the position of an origin and also recognizes the rotating position of the output shaft (20a) on the basis of the pulse counts outputted to the stepping motor (20).
