PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cells for a fuel cell and a fuel cell excellent in durability and output performance. SOLUTION: In cells C for a fuel cell, the peripheral edge portions of solid electrolyte layers 1 are formed thicker than the main body portions thereof in a state having the same or the nearly same coefficient of thermal expansion as the inner side main body portions equipped with oxygen electrodes and fuel electrodes 3. The plural cells C for the fuel cell are ranging provided at intervals in a thickness direction in order to form oxygen-containing gas passages (s) on sides facing the oxygen electrodes and in order to form fuel gas passages (f) on sides facing the fuel electrodes 3. Passage formation members 4 are provided between the adjoining cells C in a ranging direction in an abutting state onto the thicker portions of the peripheral edges of the electrolyte layers 1 of the cells C so as to partition the oxygen gas-containing passage (s) or the fuel gas passage (f). |
