摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent corrosion of a metallic electrode by arranging a protective film, which is provided with a sheet resistance not less than a specific value and with a thickness less than a specific value, in the manner of covering the metallic electrode, and electrically connecting the metallic electrode to a transparent electrode through this protective film. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal device P3 is equipped with a pair of electrode base plates 30 disposed nearly parallelly. These base plates 30 are provided with a substrate 11 whose surface is formed with a number of striped metallic electrodes 12 detachedly from each other. In addition, a protective film 32 is formed nearly on the entire substrate 11 in the manner of covering these metallic electrodes 12, with the surface of this protective film 32 formed with a striped transparent electrode 6 along each metallic electrode. Further, each metallic electrode 12 and transparent electrode 6 are electrically connected by being faced opposite to each other through this protective film 32. This protective film 32 is a sheet resistance of 1.0×10<9>Ωor above, with a thickness of 1,500Åor below.
